Critical Mass is a monthly cycling event held across the world. We in Pune hold it  on every last saturday of the month. The purpose of Critical Mass is to make motorists aware that the road belongs to cyclists as much as it belongs to them.

Critical Mass is a leader less, non commercial, informal, unplanned activity - except for deciding the meeting place, date, time, and finishing place. There are no ceremonies.

Critical Mass participants get mixed with regular road traffic and enjoy the ride to the destination at their own pace. They comply with traffic rules as much as motorists do.

They are not separate from regular traffic, but they *are* the traffic itself. Due to this very purpose of Critical Mass, the event is held in evening hours, when there is traffic on road.

Safety is of high concern, so Critical Mass participants wear helmet and wear colorful cloths so that motorists can see them, in addition to putting on head and tail lights.
